In 1981 Brian Mannix created the band Uncanny X-Men with his mates. At first they tried the punk avenue and played support gigs with Men at Work, James Freud and Berlin in pubs around Melbourne. They had moderate success for a few years, building up a faithful pub audience, before hitting it big in a huge way in 1985. A number one album Cos Life Hurts and a number one single 50 Years, plus top ten hits Party and Everybody Wants to Work, ensured Brian and his band were in the public eye constantly. TV appearances and magazine covers became a regular thing.

Dale Ryder, lead singer of Boom Crash Opera, reached No 5 on the ARIA chart with the debut single Great Wall. BCO’s self-titled debut album went Gold and their second album spent more than 12 months in the Top 40, achieving double Platinum sales and featuring the Top 10 single Onion Skin and Top 20 singles Get Out Of The House, Best Thing and Dancing In The Storm. Dale is a full time performer who gets every crowd in the palm of his hand!

Scott Carne is the lead singer of Kids in the Kitchen, the 80s "new wave" band that formed in 1984, quickly racing to the top of the charts with their Platinum selling debut album Shine. The album yielded ten Top 10 singles including Change in Mood, Bitter Desire, Current Stand and Something That U Said. Kids in the Kitchen quickly become a house hold name and signed an international deal with Madonna’s management and a USA record contract with Warner Brothers/Sire Records. The second LP Terrain was released in 1986 and contained two Top 20 hits Say It and Revolution Love, which saw the Kids touring the world and breaking venue capacity records in Australia! Scott is now an entertainment agent by day and a performer by night, lighting up the stage with his amazing voice and energetic performances
